When we bought this lounger we had no idea what we were getting into. Back in the day to upholster they used whatever they could find to stuff in it. All I can say is all of that itchy junk from the inside is gone. We stripped it to the bones and cleaned it thoroughly a couple of times. Then we rebuilt it using quality materials. We found a special cowhide for the back and genuine leather for the seat. A vintage tanned leather was also added to accent the rest. It was purchased to use in a wedding and then adorn a hallway in California. It's in good hands now!
