About 2D Rustic Designs

Hello, I’m Debbie. My husband is Dave and has joined in my fun. That’s how we got named 2D. ( Deb Dave ) 2DRusticDesigns. We are  not far from Phoenix, near Wickenburg AZ. We moved our son and the horses from our acreage in Colorado.

I used to paint furniture; felt I  had to paint it perfectly. Then I learned to love rustic and patina. Loved the look of wood furniture that looks rusted. I joined a couple of paint groups then an online upholstery group called The Rusted Roan and began learning western upholstery.  Now I’ve combined the rustic furniture painting with western upholstery and sometimes I even add decoupage.

We rarely use anything except genuine leather, genuine cowhide, and Pendleton. Doing Upholstery with Leather and cowhide has its own challenges. Luckily Dave is great at stretching Leather, pulling tacks, and securing loose parts.

The photo is of one of my favorites, a storage bench with padded Pendleton, leather trim and seat, upholstery tacks and paint that is a prime example of my painting outside the lines!  This one is not for sale but I have a few things posted on my Facebook and website. We do custom orders so your Grandmas rocker, your mom’s old dresser or that bargain flea market find is our fun! Follow my Facebook page you will see our work when I post them.  Join us!
